About Wakeido

Company Profile

Greetings
I was surrounded by art from an early age and as a child I naturally thought I would pursue this business.
After graduating from high school, I decided to follow in my father's footsteps and become an art dealer.
He was told that working under his father would make him dependent on others, so he spent six and a half years training at Nakamiya Shoten in the art gallery of Hankyu Department Store in Osaka.
This was called an apprenticeship and involved live-in training.
It was a tough experience, but it's all helped me to grow now.
After graduating, I took over the family business under my father, and before I knew it, I had been in this business for 50 years.
He has been a member of numerous art associations, including the Tokyo Art Dealers Association and the Osaka Art Dealers Association, and has gained experience and a track record.
We are confident in our ability to judge quality.
Even today, Niigata is home to many works of art and antiques.
We would like to help preserve these works of art and antiques for future generations.
I was told from a young age that I was the third generation, so it was only natural that I would take over and enter the art business.
I was told that being under the care of one's parents would make one dependent, so I trained at Yoshii Shoten in Osaka for five and a half years.
I had the opportunity to learn about etiquette, manners, and the harshness of society as well as to become a connoisseur, which was an invaluable experience.
After completing my training, I started working in my father's family business.
This business is a daily learning experience. I am not satisfied with the status quo and strive to improve even a little every day.
We would like to help pass on the art in Niigata to the next generation.
Please leave your inquiries regarding art and antiques to Wakeido.
